Materials Suitable For CNC Turning

We have been focusing on the CNC Turning field for over 20 years and have rich production and processing experience. There are various materials suitable for CNC Turning processing, and the following are some common materials and their characteristics:

Carbon steel: such as 1045 steel, which has good comprehensive performance and relatively low cost, is widely used in the manufacturing of various mechanical parts.
Common components such as shafts and gears can be machined using 1045 steel through CNC turning.

Brass: It has good cutting performance and conductivity, and is commonly used in the manufacturing of electrical connectors, plumbing accessories, etc.
For example, the pins in some small electrical plugs may be CNC turned using brass.

Aluminum
Features: Aluminum has excellent strength to weight ratio, much harder than plastic, but requires lubrication or cooling for better use in CNC cutting. It has high hardness, is sturdy, lightweight, and does not corrode. It can use hard coatings to improve wear resistance.
Application: Widely used in aerospace, automotive, electronic equipment and other fields.

Stainless Steel
Features: Stainless steel is a metal material with excellent corrosion resistance, commonly used in manufacturing parts that require high corrosion resistance. It has good mechanical properties and good machinability.
Application: Commonly used in medical equipment, food processing equipment, chemical equipment, etc.

Carbon Steel
Features: Carbon steel has good mechanical properties, good machinability, and good weldability. But low-carbon steel is susceptible to chemical corrosion and erosion.
Application: In fields such as mechanical manufacturing and automotive industry.

Titanium alloy
Features: Titanium alloy has high strength, corrosion resistance, and good biocompatibility. But the cutting temperature is high, the work hardening phenomenon is obvious, and the tool wear is fast.
Application: Commonly used in the manufacturing of high-end components in aerospace, medical, and chemical industries.

Aluminum alloy: such as aluminum 6061, has good strength to weight ratio and excellent mechanical processing performance.
Stainless steel alloys, such as stainless steel 304 and 316, have excellent mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance, respectively.
